College for the disabled will open soon in Chhattisgarh

Raipur: The Chhattisgarh government is now going to open Divyang Colleges in all the divisions of the state. Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Minister Laxmi Rajwade has announced this on Saturday today. She said that the planning of this scheme is being done and she will discuss it with the Chief Minister. At present, there is only one Divyang College in Raipur, while schools for the disabled are being run in about 21 out of 33 districts. Minister Rajwade said that preparations are being made to open Divyang Schools in all the districts of the state.

Along with this, skill development and vocational education will also be provided. Minister Laxmi Rajwade said that there are about 7 lakh Divyang people of various categories in the state. Due to the lack of colleges at present, many Divyang children are forced to leave studies after class XII. In view of this, there is a constant demand to increase the number of schools and colleges. This initiative will prove to be an important step towards higher education and better future for Divyang children.
