Congress Rajya Sabha candidate Christopher Tilak

Tamil Nadu: Christopher Tilak has been declared the Congress candidate for the Rajya Sabha elections from Tamil Nadu.
In addition, Abhishek Manu Singhvi and Vem Narendra Reddy from Telangana, Phoolo Devi Netham from Chhattisgarh, Karamveer Singh Baudh from Haryana, and Anurag Sharma from Himachal Pradesh have also been declared candidates. The terms of six Rajya Sabha members elected from Tamil Nadu expire on April 2.
These include Trichy Siva, N.R. Elango, Anthiyur Selvaraj, Kanimozhi Somu from the DMK, Thambidurai from the AIADMK, and G.K. Vasan, President of the Tamil Nadu Congress Party.
The Election Commission has announced that elections will be held on March 16 for the 37 vacant Rajya Sabha seats in 10 states, including Tamil Nadu. The filing of nominations for Rajya Sabha seats ends today. Of the six vacant seats in Tamil Nadu, the DMK will receive four and the AIADMK two, based on the number of MLAs.
The DMDK alliance has allocated one Rajya Sabha seat to the DMDK and one to the Congress, but the Congress has announced Christopher Thilak as its candidate.
Christopher Thilak is in charge of the Congress for Manipur and Nagaland in Trichy.
Meanwhile, Trichy Siva and Professor Constantine Ravindran are contesting from the DMK, and Thambidurai from the AIADMK.
The candidates contesting the Rajya Sabha elections from the DMDK and PMK have not been announced yet.
