Meanwhile, the girl’s family reportedly contacted a young man living in the neighborhood. It is said that the girl’s family lured the young man into sitting in the mandap by offering half the dowry. The young man then arrived at the wedding venue disguised as the groom and sat in the mandap with the girl.
A short time later, when the family spotted the young man, they became aware of the situation. A dispute ensued. It is alleged that the family members grabbed the young man and beat him severely. The sudden commotion created chaos at the wedding venue.
