Telangana: Two siblings drowned in a farm well in Adilabad district

Adilabad: Two siblings accidentally drowned in a farm well at Umri Kolamguda village in Utnoor mandal on Tuesday.

Police said Athram Lethu (27), a mentally unsound person from Kolamguda, allegedly died by suicide by plunging into a well. His elder brother, Athram Jangu, drowned while attempting to rescue Lethu, though he did not know how to swim.

The two were returning to Kolamguda after visiting a tribal fair held at Shyampur village. They were suspected to have consumed liquor at the time of the incident. Lethu was diagnosed with mental illness eight months ago and had been threatening to end his life.

Police retrieved the bodies and registered a case based on a complaint lodged by Sonerao, the father of the two. Investigations are ongoing.
