Congress will win 14 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana

Hyderabad: Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Saturday said that Congress will almost make a clean sweep in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Telangana state by winning 13 to 14 seats with a huge majority.

He was addressing the Nalgonda parliamentary constituency election preparation meeting at Maitampally in Huzurnagar. Over 10,000 Congress workers from Huzurnagar, Kodad, Suryapet, Miryalaguda, Deverakonda, Nagarjunasagar and Nalgonda assembly constituencies participated in the meeting.

Others who addressed the meeting included AICC in-charge Deepa Das Munshi, ministers Komatireddy Venkatareddy and Tummala Nageswara Rao, senior leader K. Jana Reddy, MLA, MLC and party’s Nalgonda Lok Sabha candidate K. Raghuveer Reddy was involved.
Uttam Kumar Reddy, who won as Nalgonda MP in 2019, announced that the party will retain the seat with a record majority.
“I have been elected as MLA and MP from Nalgonda constituency seven times. Your unwavering support towards the Congress has been instrumental in my victory. This is the result of hard work, sacrifice and dedication of the Congress cadre during my tenure as MP. Uttam Kumar Reddy said, “I have facilitated important developmental activities.”

He accused the BJP government of betraying the farming community. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised in 2016 to double the income of farmers by 2022 but failed. Instead, the burden of GST on farm equipment and input materials was passed on to farmers.
Questioning the credibility of BJP leaders campaigning in Telangana state, especially Modi, Uttam Kumar Reddy sought clarification on the promise of creating two crore jobs annually.

The Congress leader said the Modi government has failed to honor the promises made in the AP Reorganization Act to set up a railway coach factory at Kazipet and a steel factory at Bayyaram. Similarly, he said that the promises of establishment of tribal university, turmeric board and other decisions are pending for nine years.
He criticized the Center for canceling the Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR) project in Hyderabad, which was approved by the UPA government, which could have created about 50 lakh jobs. He said that not a single poor family in Telangana state has got a house from the Centre.

Deepa Das Munshi said that Nalgonda has always been a stronghold of Congress. He urged the voters to continue their support and elect Raghuveer Reddy in the elections.
Venkatareddy said that within 100 days of coming to power, the Congress government implemented various welfare schemes besides honoring the six guarantees. He said lakhs of families have benefited from schemes like gas cylinder for Rs 500 and free travel for women in RTC buses.
