Congressmen harass us, alleges woman leader
Bastar. The politics of Jagdalpur Municipal Corporation is heated these days. The councilors of the corporation including the Congress District President are constantly accusing Mayor Safira Sahu of corruption. In such a situation, Safira Sahu has also hit back at the Congress. Safira Sahu said that when I was in Congress, I was harassed a lot. They used to harass me mentally. This was the reason why I left the party and joined the BJP. Safira said that these people are now raising questions on the work of the corporation. Why were no questions raised when I was in Congress?
Why was no one told about any work then? The allegations of corruption being made against me are completely wrong. It is true that no one is respected in the Congress party. Actually, a few days ago, the Bastar District Congress Committee has accused Jagdalpur Mayor Safira Sahu of corruption. District President Sushil Maurya had said that there is a mess in the drain construction work of Rs 1 crore 99 lakh. The approval for construction has been done somewhere else and the map has been put up somewhere else.
He had demanded an investigation into this matter. He had said that the mayor is only misappropriating the public’s money by getting work done in an unethical manner. This should be investigated.
