Convincing Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub for ‘Haddi’ was tough: Producer Sanjay Saha
Mumbai (IANS). Sanjay Saha, producer of Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer upcoming streaming film Huddi, revealed how difficult it was for him to convince actor Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub to play a pivotal role in the film.
The film ‘Haddi’ highlights the difficulties faced by the gay community. Producer duo Sanjay Saha and Radhika Nanda have roped in a plethora of actors to play interesting characters in the film, one of them being Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub.
The film’s producer Sanjay said, “It was not an ordinary role, he had to play Nawazuddin’s husband in the film. We tried to convince him several times but he did not agree. Eventually, Zeeshan came back to us and said, ‘Let’s do it, I feel good about it.’
Producer Sanjay believes that Zeeshan is a value addition to ‘Haddi’.
He added: “It was a great experience working with him as he took his role very seriously. It is not a big role in terms of screen time but it is very important and takes the story forward.
Keeping in mind the sensitivity of his character, Zeeshan plays it with dedication and delivers a stellar performance. The audience can feel the romance and chemistry between Nawazuddin and them.”
The noir revenge drama stars Anurag Kashyap in the lead role, along with Ila Arun, Saurabh Sachdeva, Sridhar Dubey, Rajesh Kumar, Vipin Sharma and Saharsh Shukla in supporting roles.
Produced by Zee Studios, Sanjay Saha and Radhika Nanda, ‘Huddi’ will premiere on 7th September 2023 on ZEE5.
