Court sends mother of trainee IAS Pooja Khedkar to two-day police custody
Pune: Pune district court has sent Manorama Khedkar, mother of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) trainee officer Pooja Khedkar, to police custody till July 20. Police had arrested Manorama on charges of threatening some people at gunpoint over a land dispute. Police said Manorama was arrested from a lodge in Mahad in Raigad district this morning. She was hiding here for several days.
According to the police, Manorama was brought from Raigad to Paud police station in Pune and formally arrested. After this, Manorama was produced in the local court, from where she was sent to police custody till July 20.
In fact, a video had surfaced in which Manorama was allegedly seen threatening some people at gunpoint over a land dispute in Dhadwali village of Mulshi tehsil in Pune. Since then, the police were looking for Manorama and her husband Dilip Khedkar. Several teams were formed to trace the accused Manorama, her husband Dilip and five others.
