Cow smugglers played a bloody game, targeted cow protector
Nuh: Cow smugglers played a bloody game early Saturday morning near Mahu-Chopta village of Ferozepur Jhirka in Nuh district of Haryana. Police said that cow smugglers allegedly shot a cow protector. The victim has been identified as Sonu Sarpanch of Rewari district. He was taken to a private hospital in Faridabad, from where he was referred to Medanta Medicity in Gurugram. The victim Sonu Sarpanch is undergoing treatment at Medanta Medicity Hospital in Gurugram. His condition remains critical. People also demonstrated outside the hospital regarding this incident.
Nuh Superintendent of Police Narendra Bijarnia said that the incident took place on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway when the cow protectors were chasing the vehicle of cow smugglers. An FIR will be registered in the case soon. The victim Sonu is undergoing treatment at Medanta Medicity. Gau rakshak Chaman Khatana said that the incident took place around 4:45 am on Saturday. The Gau rakshaks had received secret information that cow smugglers were going to smuggle cattle from Rajasthan.
After this, a team of seven Gau rakshaks chased the cow smugglers’ pickup jeep on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. During the chase, firing was done by the cow smugglers. Gau rakshak Chaman Khatana said that the smugglers’ pickup jeep overturned on the road near Mau-Chopta village. After this they started running. During this, one was caught by the Gau rakshaks. When Sonu Sarpanch caught the other, other cow smugglers opened fire. The bullet hit the Gau rakshak Sonu Sarpanch directly in the stomach.
This left him seriously injured. The victim, identified as Sonu Yadav alias Sonu Sarpanch, is struggling for life in the hospital. His condition is said to be critical. After getting information about the incident, a group of Gau rakshaks gathered outside Medanta Hospital. The protesters expressed anger over the incident and started demanding security for the Gau rakshaks. On the other hand, Hindu organization leader Kulbhushan Bhardwaj said that cow protectors should be provided licensed weapons.
Let us tell you that this is not the first incident of cow smuggling in Haryana’s Nuh district. Earlier also cow smugglers have been carrying out such incidents. Bajrang Dal member and cow protectors’ lawyer Kulbhushan Bhardwaj said that Yadav is being operated upon. Cow smuggling cases have increased in the last few years. Such incidents are becoming common in Nuh district. Cow smugglers have started using the new expressway to smuggle cattle. In the initial investigation, it seems that the suspects were from Rajasthan.
