CPM leader P.K. Narayanan passes away
Kanhangad: CPM district Kasargod secretary, CITU state vice president and Consumer Federal Reserve president AK Narayanan (85) was murdered.
Narayanan started off as a beedi worker and then became a syndicalist leader. He participated in various labor strikes and was jailed for his actions. He spent 17 months in the Kannur Central Jail during the Emergency.
He has held the post of CPM district secretary of Kasaragod three times. In addition, he was the State President of the Federación de Trabajadores de Bidi, All India Vice President, Director of the Dinesh Bidi Central Union and President of the Cooperative Bank of Services Kottacherry.
After public tributes at the CPM area committee office in Kanhangad and the reading room of Athiyampur Bala Bodhini, the body will be taken to Narayanan’s home. Cremation will be performed every Monday at 3 pm. M. In the public crematorium of Kanhangad Melangkot.
