The Bihar government has appointed international cricketers Akash Deep and Mukesh Kumar to the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP). Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary handed over appointment letters to a total of 19 outstanding athletes—including these two cricketers—at a ceremony held at the Urja Auditorium in the capital, Patna. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister remarked that a new chapter of a bright future for athletes in Bihar has begun.
The Chief Minister stated that the state government is making continuous efforts to encourage and honor sporting talent.
