Criminals gunned down an RSS worker
Dhanbad (IANS). RSS worker Shankar Prasad was gunned down by criminals in Tundi of Dhanbad district. The incident took place on Tuesday late night, but people came to know about it on Wednesday morning.
Shankar Prasad was associated with the RSS for almost three decades. He was also the district work head of Sangh-affiliated organization District Vanvasi Kalyan Kendra.
There is anger in the area regarding the incident. The reasons for the murder have not been ascertained, but according to the police, there could be some enmity behind the incident.
Police recovered the body on Wednesday morning and sent it for postmortem.
Shekar was a resident of Duma village under East Tundi police station area. He also worked for the Village Defense Force. In many villages of Dhanbad, villagers have formed village defense teams with the help of police for crime control. Shankar was also a member of this team in Shahrapura village.
It is being told that on Tuesday night he was going from his house to Shahrapura, when the criminals fired six bullets at him near the cemetery.
The villagers say that because of giving information about the criminals to the police, he had become an eyesore of some people. Former Giridih MP Ravindra Pandey and RSS workers have exposed the murder and demanded the arrest of the culprits.
