Cyber criminals looted over Rs 9 crore in 2023 Khammam

Khammam: Cases of robbery and looting have declined in Khammam Police Commission limits in 2023, while cyber crimes, atrocities against women and SC/STs will increase.

595 robberies were recorded last year and 466 this year, while 35 percent of the lost property was recovered. Last year, 211 cases of trampling were registered and this year 187 cases were registered. 86 people were arrested in 41 ganja cases and 872 kg of ganja worth Rs 13 crore was seized from them.

This year there has been an increase of 6 percent in cyber crime. Cyber criminals earned over Rs 9 million through online fraud and 1,332 complaints of cyber crime were registered. The number of traffic accidents increased by 11 percent: they caused 589 traffic accidents in which 233 people died and 648 were injured.

In general, kidnapping cases have increased by six percent, with 45 cases reported this year. Efforts at the Police Commissionerate level and by the Working Group and others led to a 271 percent increase in general application of the law. The general rate of conviction decreased by 30 percent.

The district police has worked hard to maintain law and order with effective strategies. To prevent accidents on the road, deficiencies in blocking points should be eliminated and signals containing semaphores, barricades and radio stickers should be used.

The district police organized a mega job fair for unemployed youth and 8,200 youth got employment in 150 companies. Similarly, 500 eligible youth received special training with the help of experienced colleges to help them in competitive examinations.

According to a police release here on Friday, during the year, they constructed Raghunadhapalem, Madhira Rural, Kallur, Police Commissionerate against Cyber Crimes and Child Traffic Awareness Park.
