Cyclonic storm in Bay of Bengal, possibility of rain in Odisha
Bhubaneswar: A cyclonic storm in the Bay of Bengal on December 3, is likely to make landfall on the coasts of northern Tamil Nadu and southern Andhra Pradesh on December 4. It is noteworthy that a well-marked low pressure area has formed in the southeast of the Bay of Bengal. ,
Yesterday’s well-marked low pressure area over southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining South Andaman Sea moved west-northwestwards and lay over southeast Bay of Bengal. It is likely to move west-northwestwards and intensify into a depression over south-east Bay of Bengal during the next 24 hours.
Moving west-northwestwards, it will gradually intensify into a cyclonic storm over the south-west Bay of Bengal around December 3, following which it will move north-westwards and intensify into a cyclonic storm around December 4. Will reach near the coasts of North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh.
There is a possibility of rain at the following places in Odisha:
Light to moderate rain/thundershowers very likely at one or two places over Coastal Odisha, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangapur, Rayagada and Kandhamal districts on December 4.
Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely at a few places over Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam districts and at one or two places over the remaining districts of Coastal Odisha, Nabarangapur, Kalahandi, Nuapada and Kandhamal on December. 5.
Light to moderate rain/thundershowers very likely at many places over South Coastal Odisha, Malkangiri, Koraput, Navrangpur, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal districts and at a few places over North Coastal Odisha, Nuapada, Bolangir, Boudh districts. And at one or two places in the rest of the districts of Odisha on 6 December.
There is a possibility of light to moderate rain/thundershowers at many places in the districts of
