Date of counting of votes changed in Mizoram

Mizoram : The results of Mizoram assembly elections will not be declared along with the other four states Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Telangana. On the demand of the people of Mizoram, the Election Commission has announced to change the date of declaration of election results from December 3 to December 4. The Election Commission said that many applications were received from different areas, because Sunday has special significance for the people there.

In the application, it was requested to change the date of counting of votes to some extent from December 3, 2023 (Sunday). After that the Election Commission has decided to conduct the counting of votes on December 4 (Monday). However, no change has been made in the schedule of general elections.
