Dead bodies of two teenage girls found hanging from a tree

Guwahati (IANS). The bodies of two teenage girls were found hanging from a tree in Assam’s Kamrup district on Sunday. Officials told that both are cousins.

The incident is of Tulsibadi area of the district.

The deceased have been identified as Mamta Begum (19) and Simon Nessa (17).

The bodies of both were found hanging from a tree at a deserted place by the local people. Police reached the spot after getting the information.

It turned out that both the girls were cousins. Locals claimed that she was raped and later committed suicide.

Kamrup Superintendent of Police Hitesh Chandra Roy told IANS: “We have sent the bodies for post-mortem and can give any conclusion only after the post-mortem reports are out. Meanwhile, the police team is probing the entire incident.”
