Dead body found in canal, suspected to have been murdered and disposed of
Mungeli: Sensation has spread after the dead body of an unknown person was found in the main canal of Lormi police station area of the district this morning. As soon as the information was received, Lormi Police Station reached the spot and started investigating the case with the help of dog squad.
According to the information received from the police, the case is of murder of a youth. It is suspected that the youth was first killed on the road near the canal, after which the accused fled by dragging him and throwing him in the canal with the intention of hiding the evidence. Blood marks are also clearly visible on the road i.e. the incident site.
In the case, Additional SP Pankaj Patel of Mungeli district said that the dead body of an unknown youth has been found in the Lormi canal, looking at the evidence found at the incident site, it seems that two-three people have murdered the youth. At present, the police is searching the video recorded in the CCTV camera and has also started other investigations to identify the absconding accused.
