Dead body of woman guard’s husband found near railway crossing, fear of suicide

Durg: The body of a 35-year-old youth was found on the side of the highway in the district on Wednesday. As soon as the information was received, the Durg police reached the spot. On questioning people, the deceased has been identified as Gurjit Singh, a resident of Katulboard under Mohan Nagar police station area. Police has sent the body for PM. The case is of Durg Kotwali area.

TI Mahesh Dhruv said that the dead body was reported lying near the Baghera railway crossing on Wednesday morning. On spot investigation, no injuries or other marks were found anywhere in the body of the dead body. Gurjit Singh lived with his wife. His wife works as a security guard at Shankaracharya Medical College. Gurjeet’s friend told the police that he was a habitual drunkard. No one used to work. Police suspect that he may have died due to excessive drinking.

Durg police is also looking into the matter from the angle of suicide. The police suspect that either Gurjeet died due to excessive consumption of alcohol or he had consumed some lethal intoxicant. The police have also called his wife for questioning. Police say that Gurjeet was originally from Punjab. He has been living in the fort for the last 15-20 years. The police will also interrogate his relatives.
