Death of a person in the police station, created panic

Dhamtari. There has been a stir due to the death of a person in police custody in Kurud police station of Dhamtari. Angered by the death, family members and BJP members blocked National Highway 30 in Kurud and raised slogans against the police. The family members ended their protest after assurance of a judicial inquiry into the matter. It is being told that Shivcharan Chakradhari, resident of ward no. 2 of Kurud, was brought to the Kurud police station on charges of selling liquor. Meanwhile, the deceased suddenly fell down while walking and was immediately brought to District Hospital Dhamtari. Where after investigation the doctors declared him dead.

The family alleges that Shivcharan died due to police beating, due to which the family members and the BJP have demanded the dismissal of Kurud TI. Along with this, they are demanding a compensation of 50 lakhs to the family of the deceased and a government job to a member. However, the police administration says that Shivcharan died of epilepsy, and also said that a judicial inquiry will be conducted into the matter.
