Death toll in Uri accident reaches 10
after two injured passengers died in a road accident in Uri area of Baramulla district late last night.
The two injured, who were shifted from Baramulla to Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) in Srinagar, died during treatment late last night.
They have been identified as Shabbir Ahmed, son of Abdul Ghani and Shabbir Ahmed, son of Mohammed Abdullah – both residents of Bujithallan.
Meanwhile, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Traffic Rural Kashmir, Ravinder Pal Singh, told Excelsior that the driver of the vehicle was a habitual offender of traffic rules. “He was fined nine times for overloading in the area and on January 29, we sent a letter to RTO Kashmir demanding cancellation of his driving license,” he said.
