Deepotsav 2023 will be the most grand ever in Ayodhya this year

Lucknow (IANS) | This year, the Deepotsav celebrations in Ayodhya will be the grandest ever with a target of lighting 21 lakh earthen lamps. This year’s Deepotsav will be celebrated just before Ram Lala is seated in the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram temple.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that this Deepotsav will set a new record. Last year, 15.76 lakh diyas illuminated Ayodhya.

According to a spokesperson of the state government, 21 lakh diyas (earthen lamps) will be lit this year. Every Ghat, Math, Temple, Surya Kund, Bharat Kund and every house will be illuminated with lamps.

The Yogi Adityanath government has been holding Deepotsav celebrations in Ayodhya every year on the eve of Diwali since it came to power in March 2017.

Emphasizing the importance of Ayodhya for his government, the Chief Minister said, currently, projects worth about Rs 32,000 crore are underway in Ayodhya. Such a large number of projects are not underway in any other city across the country.

He said that when Prime Minister Narendra Modi enshrines Ramlala in the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram temple after 500 years, the whole world will be attracted to Ayodhya.

The Chief Minister listed out the ongoing development projects in Ayodhya. He mentioned about the international airport, railway station and other projects.

Yogi also attacked the opposition on this occasion and said, earlier there was neither road nor train (connectivity) in Ayodhya. It used to take five-six hours to reach Ayodhya from Gorakhpur and Lucknow. Now this journey is covered in one hour. Six years ago people used to avoid taking the name of Ayodhya. But this government is trying to ensure its overall development.
