Delhi’s service minister and AAP leader Atishi said – no policy to reduce pollution can be drafted without data about its sources

New Delhi (ANI): Delhi Services Minister and AAP leader Atishi said the government cannot draft policies to reduce pollution as there is no official data available to show which sources contribute how much to pollution. Are. Services Minister Atishi said: “There is no official data available that can tell which source produces what amount of pollution. The problem is that no policy can be formulated to reduce this pollution when the government does not know the amount of contribution from a particular source of pollution.”
“To address the lack of data on pollution sources, the Delhi Cabinet in July 2021 decided to conduct a real-time source distribution study in Delhi. This is the first such study to be conducted in India and perhaps the world. The study is led by IIT Kanpur in collaboration with TERI and IISER. The study uses world-class scientific instruments to measure pollution in central Delhi, and also uses advanced chemical and mathematical modeling at specified sites. Some interesting ideas emerged and were presented to the government,” he added.

And an entire site was designed which is located in the center of Delhi which housed 13 world class scientific instruments that would measure the pollution and secondly the study was designed with advanced chemical modeling as well as advanced mathematical models. The results of this study have so far presented many interesting things to the government.

Speaking to ANI, Bhardwaj said, “I think pollution is the problem of entire North India. “Sometimes pollution is highest in Uttar Pradesh, sometimes a city in Haryana is ranked No. 1 and sometimes, a city in Rajasthan is ranked No. 1 in the world.” For this, all the states and the Center will have to work together.”
He further said that blaming Delhi for pollution is petty politics as the Union Territory is very small in size compared to other neighboring states.
