Difficulties may increase for 12 IAS officers
Chandigarh. The Anti Corruption Bureau’s preliminary investigation into the property ID survey scam of Yashi Company may increase the problems of about 12 IAS officers. In the preliminary investigation conducted on the orders of Lokayukta Justice Haripal Verma, the Anti Corruption Bureau has found the allegations of fraud to be true.
The anti-corruption team has stated the need for a detailed open investigation to expose the scam. In the same matter, the Lokayukta has also demanded an investigation report from the Principal Secretary of the Urban Bodies Department, the case will be heard on January 11.
RTI activist PP Kapoor had given a complaint to Lokayukta Justice Haripal Verma on July 19 last year against civic body minister Kamal Gupta, 12 IAS officers and 88 officials of the urban body department. In the complaint, serious allegations of scam in the property ID survey of Yashi Company were made.
As soon as the Lokayukta’s notice was received, the government blacklisted Yashi Company and stopped the outstanding payment of Rs 8 crore. Along with this, performance bank guarantee worth lakhs of rupees was also confiscated.
It was alleged that despite the property ID survey being bogus, the officials made a payment of Rs 58 crore to the company. The public is pushing to get the errors of this bogus survey corrected.
