Distribution of machinery and toolkits to people under Village Industry Development Scheme

Uttarakhand. Manoj Kumar, Chairman, Khadi and Village Industries Commission, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India, on Tuesday distributed machinery and toolkits to workers and beneficiaries of traditional industries in the state of Uttarakhand under the Gramodyog Vikas Yojana in village Libberhedi, Mangalore, district Haridwar. Did. In the distribution program, 30 beekeepers of beekeeping industry were given 300 bee-boxes and toolkits, electric chalk to 62 potters, footwear repairing toolkit to 50 tanners and plumbing equipment to 20 plumbers. On the occasion of the distribution ceremony, Khadi and Village Industries Commission Chairman Manoj Kumar said that with the inspiration of Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Khadi and Village Industries Commission is constantly trying to provide employment to every village. Under the guidance of Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Khadi and Village Industries Commission is distributing tools and machinery to the workers of Indian traditional industries under the Village Industries Development Scheme, due to which the income of the workers of traditional industries will increase in their standard of living. Along with reforms, the rural economy is being strengthened by protection and promotion of Indian traditional industries.
Addressing the gathering, the Speaker said that the vision of a self-reliant India on which the country’s famous Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working, has the mantra – work for every hand, and a fair price for work. With this mantra, the Commission is implementing schemes in the villages and towns of the country. He further said that in order to give concrete shape to the call of Sweet Revolution by Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Khadi and Village Industries Commission is running the Honey Mission Scheme at the national level. Under this scheme, 7420 B-boxes and tool kits have been distributed to 742 Kisan Maupalaks in the state of Uttarakhand, in which 4990 B-boxes and tool kits have been distributed to 499 SC and ST beneficiaries. He further said that along with increasing the yield of agriculture, beekeeping is also increasing the income of the farmers. Apart from this, elephants are being prevented from entering human settlements and farmers’ fields through bee boxes in villages adjacent to forest areas, due to which there has been a reduction in incidents of human attacks by elephants and damage to farmers’ agriculture. The Chairman said that under Project 16-.154, one such effort is being conducted by the Khadi and Village Industries Commission in village Chausla, Forest Range Fatehpur, Haldwani, Uttarakhand State.
The Chairman informed that under the Gramodyog Vikas Yojana in the state of Uttarakhand, so far 262 electric wheels have been distributed to the potters. Apart from this, footwear repairing kits have been distributed to 80 leather craftsmen and plumbing kits to 20 plumbers for repairing footwear. On this occasion, it was also informed by the Chairman that the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Program is being run at the national level for the self-employment of unemployed youth and women by the Khadi and Village Industries Commission, in which projects up to 50 lakhs are being provided for the establishment of small industries. A grant of up to a maximum of 35% on the cost is being given by the Government of India. The Chairman said that the determined intentions of the Honorable Prime Minister have worked to infuse new life into the Khadi sector after 204. Khadi has now become global from local. As a result of this, in the financial year 202-22, the figure of sale of Khadi Village Industries crossed ₹5,000 crore. This happened for the first time after independence. Manoj Kumar said that in order to fulfill the dedicated vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister to improve the economic condition of Khadi Artisans along with improving the sales of Khadi, the Commission has decided to increase the remuneration of all artisans working in Khadi by about one percent from April 4, 2023. With an increase of 35%, which is a historic step in itself. He told that since the year 204 till now, the remuneration of Khadi artisans has been increased by more than 50 percent. Officers and employees of the Khadi and Village Industries Commission, Government of India were present in the programme.
