District level team will soon do physical verification in rice mills
Guhla. During the physical investigation conducted in two of the four rice mills of Cheeka, about 21 thousand 600 quintals of paddy was found scam. The matter has come to light in the joint investigation of Haryana Agriculture and Marketing Board. After investigation, senior officer DMEO Shyam Sundar had said that 6400 quintals of PR paddy was found short in one rice mill, while on the other hand, in another rice mill, about 15 thousand 200 quintals of PR paddy was found short as per stock matching and gate passes. . However, even after finding differences in other stocks, the team paid the market fees and fine and sent its action report to the higher authorities. Despite such a huge difference being found, no further action was taken by the administration in this matter.
However, in this case, information has been received from the sources that according to the team which investigated, the paddy bag from the market was of 37.5 kg, whereas according to the raw collection done after drying the paddy in the rice mills, the paddy bags had different sizes. The millers had appealed to the Deputy Commissioner regarding the different weight. In this regard, a committee was formed by the Deputy Commissioner and information has also been received that Zilla Parishad CEO Ashwani Malik has been appointed as the in-charge of the committee. In this case, Market Committee employees and agency personnel will also be part of the team. Such information has also been received. The big question that arises in this matter is that a district level team has been formed to whitewash the investigation conducted by the high level team of the board, while the government also seems to have bowed down in this matter.
After this scam was exposed, neither DC of Kaithal district Prashant Pawar nor DFSC Nishikant Rathi picks up the phone. Whenever attempts were made to talk to them regarding this matter, the officials did not pick up the phones. From which it is clear that either the Millers are aware of the authorities or are afraid of the upcoming action. However, only time will decide what will be the next step in this matter. One thing is clear in this matter that the Marketing Board team which had earlier investigated, not only demonstrated its honesty but also openly informed the media about the shortcomings found. On the other hand, it cannot be said what is the intention of the team formed at the district level, but it is certain that if the team keeps the facts limited to papers only, then the possibility of a new rift cannot be ruled out. . While the situation regarding any investigation should be made crystal clear by the authorities, their reluctance to even tell when the investigation will commence is already making the intentions of the authorities clear.
