DMK is creating division between North and South, claims TN BJP chief Annamalai
Madurai: Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai said the DMK made false statements in an attempt to divide the people of northern and southern regions of India. Addressing the En Mana En Makkal event in Madurai on Saturday, he said the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led central government has made all efforts to unite the people, especially through its love for Tamil and the people of Tamil Nadu.
“There was no corruption in the state until late DMK leader M Karunanidhi came to power. Annamalai said, “DMK cadres are upset with the party administration due to dynastic politics and corruption.” He said, “BJP has fulfilled all 295 election promises, while DMK is yet to fulfill its 511 election promises. Let DMK workers bring a booklet of DMK’s election promises and prove that the party has fulfilled 99% of its promises, after which I will leave politics. I can show a booklet of BJP’s election promises and prove that we have fulfilled all of them.
Annamalai alleged that Commercial Tax Minister P Murthy overtook Karunanidhi in the ‘scientific’ corruption case. “Nobody will believe that Chief Minister MK Stalin has heartily appreciated IT Minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan. The Chief Minister has heard only eight minutes of PTR’s conversation. If I release an hour-long audio clip, there will be a stir in Gopalapuram,” he claimed.
“During every parliamentary election, people are not sure about the winning candidate. However, 2024 is the only year in the history of the country where people know even before the elections that Modi will become Prime Minister for the third time,” Annamalai said.
Later, while addressing a Jallikattu program in Sakkudi village, he said that Modi is the reason why Jallikattu programs are now being held in the state.
