DMK’s election manifesto contains over 500 promises: Complete details

Tamil Nadu: The DMK’s election manifesto was released on Sunday, including announcements such as a coupon worth ₹8,000 for housewives to purchase household items, free pump sets for farmers, a ₹2,000 grant for women’s rights, and an increase in the amount of assistance under the Innovative Women Scheme to ₹1,500.

Ahead of the assembly elections, a committee comprising ministers, MLAs, board chairmen, and others was formed under the leadership of DMK Parliamentary Group leader and DMK Deputy General Secretary Kanimozhi to prepare an election report on behalf of the DMK. The committee visited assembly constituencies and sought feedback from the public and party officials. The committee prepared an election report on women’s development, state autonomy, education, health, and the employment sector, which was released by party president M.K. Stalin at the Anna Arivalayam on Sunday.

Here are its highlights: A new scheme called ‘Ilatharasi’ will be implemented, enabling the purchase or replacement of new household items such as washing machines, refrigerators, mixers, grinders, TVs, microwaves, ovens, etc.

Under this scheme, all housewives from families that do not pay income tax will be given a coupon worth ₹8,000 to purchase the aforementioned household items from local shops.

More than 2 million farmers who receive free electricity will be provided with meterless modern electric pump sets. The breakfast scheme will be extended to Class 8, benefiting 1.5 million students. The amount for women will be increased to ₹2,000.

The monthly assistance for the elderly will be increased to ₹2,000 and for the disabled to ₹2,500. The monthly assistance under the Innovative Women and Tamil Sons Scheme will be increased to ₹1,500. Laptops will also be provided to 3.5 million students pursuing higher education over the next five years.

Under the ‘Well-Being Tamil Nadu 2030’ scheme, the annual income limit for joining the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme will be increased to ₹5 lakh, and the insurance amount will be increased to ₹10 lakh.

A special program will be implemented to control and prevent ten non-communicable diseases, including heart disease, diabetes, and kidney disease. Classical Language Conference in Chennai: A classical language conference will be held in Chennai to promote the development of the Tamil language. A gallery with modern library facilities will be built in Pollachi at a cost of approximately ₹10 crore so that the younger generation can learn about the history of the language struggle.

The central government will be urged to release a report on Keezhadi excavation as soon as possible.

The procurement price of paddy will be ₹3,500 per quintal, and the price of sugarcane will be ₹4,500 per ton. The procurement price of milk will be increased by ₹10.5 per liter. Food production will be increased to 12.5 million metric tons. Palm products will be sold through Aavin outlets. The Tamil Nadu Water Conservation Action Plan 2056 will be developed to meet Tamil Nadu’s water needs.

For athletes… The pension amount for disabled athletes will be increased from ₹6,000 to ₹10,000. The special relief amount during fishing bans will be increased to ₹12,000 and the special relief amount during fishing recessions will be increased to ₹9,000.

The election manifesto includes several announcements, including implementing a development plan for the Delta, Northern, and Southern districts at a cost of ₹20,000 crore.

Guaranteed Pension Plan

Pain relief and elderly care units will be established in all government medical college hospitals.

The Guaranteed Pension Scheme for government employees and teachers will be implemented effectively, ensuring that all retiring government employees and teachers receive 50% of their salary as pension, along with other retirement benefits.

The Central Government and State Governments will implement the recommendations of the Eighth Pay Commission. 1.5 lakh vacant government employee positions will be filled. District-wise Neo Title Parks will be established to create 2 lakh new jobs.

Foreign investment worth ₹18 lakh crore will be attracted, creating jobs for 5 million youth. IT exports will be increased to ₹5 lakh crore.

10 handloom parks will be built. 5,000 temples will be consecrated and 1,000 village temples will be renovated. New towns will be built near the Trichy, Madurai, Coimbatore, and Salem Municipal Corporations. 10,000 modern buses will be purchased for transportation.

1,000 childcare centers will be built. Awards will be given to transgender people and transgender individuals. Chief Minister’s Creative Centers will be established in all constituencies.
