Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya will take part in the Tribal Pride Day celebrations

New Delhi/Raipur. Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports and Labor and Employment Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya will take part in the Tribal Pride Day padyatra with My Bharat Youth Volunteers in Jashpur, Chhattisgarh on 13 November 2024. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai along with other ministers of the state will also participate in this padyatra. The event will be celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda in honor of his legacy and the significant contribution of tribal communities in the development of the country. More than 10,000 My Bharat Youth Volunteers will participate in this special

event with the aim of remembering tribal heritage, promoting inclusiveness and raising awareness about government schemes that benefit tribal communities. These volunteers will promote the spirit of protecting and preserving tribal culture, heritage and legacy. The walk will commence from Komodo Village and culminate at Ranjit Stadium covering a distance of about 7 km.Watch Live Sports Online

The walk will unite youth, tribal leaders and community members in a vibrant celebration of tribal heritage and spirit. The event will begin with cultural performances depicting the contribution of tribal leaders in India’s independence and dances depicting the richness of tribal heritage. The walk will also commence with tree plantation in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative. During the walk, an exhibition venue will showcase historical tribal movements, tributes to tribal heroes and the unique artistry and craftsmanship of India’s tribal communities. At the halts enroute, the walk will showcase tribal culture, beautiful rangoli art pieces, paintings and plays celebrating traditional tribal art. Live workshops will provide attendees with an interactive experience with tribal dance, music and literature while a selection of tribal food items will explain their health benefits.

Highlights of the walk include:

Cultural Programs: Tribal dances and music celebrating cultural richness.

Exhibition on Tribal Movements and Arts: Showcasing historical tribal movements, valour and craftsmanship through plays and tableaus.

Awareness Kiosks: Information on Government schemes and women beneficiaries.

Artistic Programmes: Rangoli, Painting and workshops promoting tribal arts and literature.

Celebration of Youth Contribution: Showcasing My Bharat Portal and NYKS achievements.

Tribute to Tribal Leaders: Participants will be dressed in costumes of prominent tribal personalities.

Honouring Tribal Excellence: Felicitation of Padma Award winners and promotion of traditional sports.

Tribal Food: Serving a variety of tribal food items to promote health and wellness.

The Ministry through this event aims to promote a deeper understanding of tribal heritage and culture as well as actively involve the tribal community in Government welfare initiatives. The aim of this festival is to provide a platform to the youth to connect, understand and respect the rich legacy of tribal heritage of India. Department of Youth Affairs invites youth from across the country to join this Padyatra by registering on My Bharat Portal at www.mybharat.gov.in and deepen their understanding of tribal heritage and pay respect to their tribal heritage. As part of the year-long celebration to mark 75 years of the Constitution, My Bharat, under Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports will be organising Padyatras across India to embrace and showcase the rich cultural diversity of India.
