Driver burnt alive due to truck blast, dies in hospital
Mahasamund. Drivers of Chhattisgarh Drivers Association surrounded the BSCPL company demanding compensation to the family members of the driver who died due to truck blast. The state president of the union said that Ranjay Kumar Sai, aged 44 years, resident of Jehanabad, Bihar, was working permanently as a driver in BSCP L Company since 2008. On November 2, Pithora had gone to the plant of BSCPL company with a tank full of diesel, where the plant engineer asked four men to do welding in the truck and the truck was filled with diesel. As soon as the foreman was welding, the truck exploded and the truck driver Ranjay Kumar Sao was badly injured. Seriously injured Ranjay was admitted to a private hospital in Raipur, where he died on 09 November.
The company lodged a report of fire due to short circuit at Pithora police station. After losing the support of the deceased’s wife, two children, a mentally ill brother and old parents, the family is demanding compensation of Rs 41 lakh 28 thousand from the company, but the company is not ready to give it. Chhattisgarh Drivers Association today surrounded the company regarding this issue. State President of Drivers General Organization says that Ranjay died due to the negligence of the company, hence the company should give him compensation of Rs 41 lakh, otherwise we will go on indefinite strike. Whereas the management officials are refusing to say anything. Additional Superintendent of Police says that during the siege, both the parties have agreed to sit and talk on Monday and the situation is maintained at Pithora police station. After all, how the incident happened will be investigated and action will be taken.
