Drugs worth Rs 14 lakh seized, 6 including dealer and medical store operator arrested
Raigarh. Ban in Raigarh city on the guidance of Superintendent of Police Divyang Kumar Patel Along with the members of the gang selling drugs, tablets, syrups and drug injections, the police raided the medical stores of Odisha and took action against the local dealers and their supply chain and banned them illegally. A medical store operator and his brother who were selling medicines without a doctor’s prescription slip have been arrested. Drugs seized from the accused are being seized and action under NDPS Act is being taken and the accused are being sent to jail.
Case-1
SP Divyang Kumar Patel was getting information about banned medicines being easily available to the youth in the city without doctor’s prescription slip, which the youth were using as an intoxicant, on which instructions were given to all the police station in-charges to take action. In the same sequence, police station in-charge Jute Mill Inspector Mohan Bhardwaj got information from the informer that Ramkumar Khaterjee of the area was selling banned medicines in his grocery shop. On receiving the information, Jute Mill police immediately raided the grocery shop of the suspect. Ban Pain Relief Capsules of two different companies, 305 Nag Capsules worth Rs 2803 were seized from the possession of the accused. Action was taken against the accused under Section 21, 29 NDPS Act in Jutmil police station and the accused was interrogated regarding his link, which during interrogation was found to be buying banned medicines without doctor’s prescription from Madhusudan Medical Store of Kanakatura police station, Rengali district, Jharsuguda and Raigarh city. Told to sell in. SP Divyang Kumar Patel formed a joint team of police station Kotwali, Jutmil and Cyber Cell under the leadership of CSP Abhinav Upadhyay and gave necessary guidelines. The police team immediately raided Kanakpura Madhusudan Medical Store and interrogated its operator Padam Lochan Mehar. He said that he along with his brother were selling drugs like ganja, intoxicating tablets and injections. After sharing the information with the senior officers, the police team duly informed the drugs department and the joint team conducted a raid on the medical store. 6KG of ganja, huge quantity of drugs, injections and syrup were seized from the accused. Accused Padam Lochan and his brother Chandrashekhar have been made joint accused in the crime of Police Station Jutmill.
Case – 2
In the same sequence, police station in-charge Kotwali Inspector Shanip Ratre got information from his informer that a person named Suresh Verma was selling intoxicating tablets near the railway station. Immediately the Kotwali police team detained Suresh Verma after giving him an amulet at the railway station. Police recovered 128 pieces of banned drug capsules worth Rs 8726 and sale amount of Rs 300 from the possession of Suresh Sharma. On interrogating the accused Suresh Verma regarding drugs, Suresh Verma, a resident of Ghasiram Sidar, told him to buy and sell drugs from near Dhangardipa Shitala Temple and to give ₹ 20,000 in advance. The house of Ghasi Ram Sidar was raided by the police team under the leadership of CSP Raigarh. Where Dilip Singh Rajput was already found standing at the spot buying drugs. The police team duly searched the staff and searched the suspect Ghasiram Sidar, from whom 130 ampules of intoxicating injection worth Rs 7760 and the sale amount of about Rs 5000 were recovered. Police have seized 260 pieces of intoxicating injection worth Rs 15516 and cash amount of Rs 8000 from the possession of accused Dilip Singh Rajput. Action has been taken against the three accused in the police station under Section 21(B), 29 NDPS Act. Some important information has been obtained during the interrogation of the accused, the Kotwali police is investigating in this regard also.
