Due to water shortage in the festive season, cleaning of Ganga canal, supply will be disrupted for 20 days.
Noida: Like every year, this year too an annual cleaning campaign will be conducted in the Ganga Canal. As soon as it starts, water supply will be disrupted in the areas of Noida and Ghaziabad and people will have to face water shortage. There is going to be water shortage in Noida and Ghaziabad for about a month. Navratri will start from next week, followed by Diwali, Bhaiya Dooj and Chhath Puja. The general public is going to face water shortage during this festive season itself. It has been told by the Water Department of Noida Authority that from October 24 to November 14, people may face difficulty in getting water to their homes. There is a water supply plant with a capacity of 245 MLD in Siddharth Vihar, Ghaziabad. According to authority officials, this plant supplies water to 80 percent of Noida, 15 percent of GDA and 5 percent of housing development area. 400 MLD water is consumed every day in Noida. Here supply is given from Ghaziabad and Ganga Canal. Every year, due to cleaning of Ganga canal, water supply is disrupted for 20 days. According to the authority, there will be a reduction in water pressure. Water will be supplied twice or sometimes only once.
