Ranchi. IAS Chhavi Ranjan reached the ED office for the second time today for questioning in the army land scam case at Bariatu in Ranchi. Chhavi Ranjan reached the ED office at around 10 am. After which ED officials are questioning him on the army land case. After questioning, the ED arrested him around 9.35 pm. Please tell that for the first time, ED had sent summons to IAS Chhavi Ranjan on 21 April. But he did not come. After which the ED gave him time till 4 pm. But he did not reach. After which the ED summoned him again and called him on the 24th. On the second summon, Chhavi Ranjan reached the ED office on 24 April. During this also he was questioned for about 10 hours.

In the early morning of April 13, ED had raided several states including Jharkhand. This action was taken against IAS Chhavi Ranjan, former DC of Ranchi and currently Director of Social Welfare Department. The ED raided a total of 22 locations, including the locations of his wife Lovely’s house in Jamshedpur. According to media reports, Chhavi Ranjan’s residence was being raided because he was the DC of Ranchi when Army land at Bariatu in Ranchi was sold illegally. His involvement in this illegal work came to the fore. In such a situation, this raid was done regarding the same matter. Apart from Chhavi Ranjan, there are many land businessmen on the target of ED. Raids were also conducted against COs and land traders of many districts.

This action of ED was related to wrong registry of land, wrong mutation and manipulation of land. Apart from IAS Chhavi Ranjan, ED raids were also conducted at the locations of several COs, CIs and land traders in the sale and purchase of army land in Bariatu. According to information, ED’s raids were also conducted on the premises of Namkum CO Vinod Prajapati and land trader Ashraf Khan. Along with this, the ED team also raided the ancestral residence of CI Bhanu Pratap of Bargai Zone in Simdega. Bhanu Prasad’s ancestral house is situated at Jhulan Singh Chowk near Simdega bus stand. CRPF team was also present outside the house. On the morning of 13 April i.e. Thursday, the ED team had reached to raid a total of 22 locations of IAS Chhavi Ranjan and others. In which Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Simdega, Hazaribagh, Kolkata and Gopalganj of Bihar were included. IAS Chhavi Ranjan is currently posted as Director in Social Welfare Department.
IAS Chhavi Ranjan 2011 batch officer of Indian Administrative Service
Chhavi Ranjan is an officer of the 2011 batch of the Indian Administrative Service. After selection in IAS, he got Jharkhand cadre. His first posting in Jharkhand was on the post of SDO in Chakradharpur. After this he was made the DDC of Lohardaga. Then he was made DC of Koderma, during which he was transferred on the charge of cutting government trees. After this he was made the commissioner of Dhanbad Municipal Corporation. Chhavi Ranjan was transferred from the post of Commissioner of Dhanbad Municipal Corporation to the post of Director in Social Welfare Department. In 2020, he assumed his post as DC in Ranchi. Immediately IAS Chhavi Ranjan is posted as Director of Social Welfare Department. Let us tell you that Chhavi Ranjan, who was suitable for the renewal of mining lease in Ranchi of CM Hemant Soren, was in the limelight in the past, at present this matter is also registered in the files of ED. There is a stir in the government departments regarding the ongoing raid on IAS Chhavi Ranjan and his close ones.
