CPI’s nationwide political awareness campaign begins August 6; ‘Red Flag Rally’ in Delhi on September 1.

Tamil Nadu Tamil Nadu: In Chennai on Tuesday, the Communist Party of India (CPI) announced the launch of a political awareness campaign across the country. Party’s national secretary T. Raja said that this campaign will be run across the country from August 6 to August 15.

While talking to journalists at ‘Palan’, the state headquarters of CPI in Chennai, he told that this campaign will be run with the slogan of ‘Save the country, save democracy, save the Constitution’. The aim of the party is to reach out to people from villages to cities through this campaign and spread awareness about the current social, economic and political problems of the country.

T. Raja informed that after this program, a big ‘red rally’ will be organized in Delhi on 1st September. Party workers and supporters from Sanatan will participate in this rally. It is being seen as a large-scale event to illustrate the political strength and isolation of the party.

Referring to the country’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru in his book, he had said that Nehru had developed India and established restaurants. He said that under Nehru’s empire, public sector armories were established and heavy machinery was developed, which marked the beginning of the country’s industrial progress.

He also said that an attempt was made to implement a uniform economic policy in India at that time through the Planning Commission, which provided financial assistance to the states without discrimination. According to him, the policies of that time played an important role in deciding the direction of the country’s development.

The CPI leader termed it wrong to compare the policies of current Prime Minister Narendra Modi with Nehru. He said that the circumstances of both the times and the policy circumstances are different, so direct comparison is not appropriate.

It has been told by the party that various public meetings, meetings and dialogue programs will be organized during this campaign. Its objective is to reach out to the general public and share the party’s views and discuss current policies.

After this announcement, there is a stir in the political circles also, because this campaign and the upcoming rally can further intensify the ideological debate in the country’s politics.
