Elderly Couple Jeedi Durgayya and Pochamma from Kothagudem Lead Simple Life

Jeedi Durgayya and Pochamma, an elderly couple residing in Gautampur, Chunchupalli mandal, Kothagudem district of Bhadradri, are parents. They have a son and a daughter. Both are married. The son, who is in his final years, is living somewhere without knowing his whereabouts. The elderly couple, who have no source of income, used to earn a living by doing small jobs. Meanwhile, Pochamma became bedridden due to palsy. The entire burden of taking care of her family fell on Durgayya.

Durgayya also has difficulty standing up and walking as both his knees are no longer working. Their livelihood is the Rs. 2,000 pension provided by the government. Until now, Durgayya has been pushing the wheelchair provided by a donor wherever he wants to go. Now that the wheelchair is not working properly, the only way out is blocked. Getting medicines and buying essential goods has become a big problem. Durgayya and many villagers are requesting any donor to respond and provide a tricycle.
