Elderly man crushed by elephant group, painful death

According to the information received, incidents of conflict between elephants and humans have been continuously coming to light in Raigarh district. Under which, sometimes the death of elephants due to electrocution and sometimes the death of humans due to elephant attacks have often been making headlines in newspapers. On Tuesday morning at around 7 o’clock, elderly villager Brijraj, resident of village Jatra of Lailunga range under Dharamjaigarh forest range, had gone to the forest to collect cedar wood.
Meanwhile, suddenly an elderly villager encountered a group of elephants near Pakargaon Beat 335 PF Sarna Border, after which the elephants crushed the old man to death. The villagers of the village told that around a dozen elephants are roaming in their area.
According to Forest Department officials, they have been continuously organizing awareness programs in elephant affected areas and appealing to people to maintain distance from elephants and not to go towards the forest. At the same time, after the arrival of elephants in the village, while making a statement, the villagers of the village are asked to be careful, so that no incident of any kind of loss of life occurs due to elephants. However, after the death of a villager due to elephant attack, the Forest Department team reached the spot and started further action by sending the dead body for post-mortem.
