Election Commission gave notice to Priyanka Gandhi

Bhopal: The Election Commission has issued a notice to Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on the issue of objectionable statement given by taking the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Madhya Pradesh. In the show cause notice, the Election Commission asked Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to explain by 8 pm on 16th November as to why the Commission should not take action against her for violating the code of conduct. Priyanka Gandhi had said, “Modi ji, this was BHEL, which provided us employment, which was making the country progress, what did you do with it, to whom did you give it, tell me Modi ji, to whom did you give it, to your big industrialist friends. Why did you give it?

The Election Commission on Tuesday issued a show cause notice to AAP for its alleged ‘derogatory’ remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the social media handle of Aam Aadmi Party. The Commission has asked the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to respond to the allegation of Model Code of Conduct violation by November 16. A notice has been issued to the national convenor of the ruling Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi and Punjab and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Besides, a show-cause notice has also been issued to Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra for making ‘unverified’ statements against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The BJP had on November 10 approached the Election Commission seeking action against AAP for posting ‘highly unacceptable’ and ‘immoral’ video clips and comments on the social media platform targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Last Wednesday, AAP had posted a video story of industrialist Gautam Adani and Prime Minister Modi on the social media platform ‘X’. The next day, the party posted a picture of Adani and Modi and alleged that the Prime Minister does not work for the people but for industrialists.
