Election Commission is taking unilateral action – Ramdas alleged

Tamil Nadu: PMK and party founder Dr. S. Ramadoss accused the Election Commission of India of acting unilaterally in deciding who should hold the party symbol.

He further told reporters at the Tailapuram Estate near Tindivanam on Thursday:

Anbumani, who was the PMK leader, has been removed from the party’s basic membership as per the decision of the party’s disciplinary committee. Because of this, the confused man is lying and deceiving the media and the public.

The Delhi High Court has twice ruled in our favor regarding who holds power in the party. Consequently, the Election Commission has filed a review petition in the court. The Election Commission is not moving in the right direction. Some officials working within it are acting unilaterally.

Dr. S. Ramadoss said that we are discussing an alliance for the 2026 Legislative Assembly elections.

PMK lawyer Arul: According to party rule number 23, Anbumani was expelled from the party on 11.9.2025. Therefore, he has no right to remain party leader, seek a symbol on his own behalf, or discuss electoral alliances.

The Election Commission filed a review petition in the Delhi court on the 4th. This is a fraudulent act. He stated that only Dr. Ramdas has the right to sign the application forms for those contesting on behalf of the PMK in the 2026 Legislative Assembly elections.

PMK Honorary President G.K. Mani, Working President Sreekanti Ramdas, Chief Secretary Anbazhagan, and the Administrator were present at the time.
