Emergency landing of plane full of passengers in Delhi
New Delhi : A Lufthansa flight from Munich to Bangkok was on Wednesday landed at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport after an unruly passenger allegedly created a ruckus on board the plane. According to sources, the passenger had a heated argument with his wife, following which both of them were dropped at the Delhi airport and handed over to Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officials.
Sources said, “The flight was going to Bangkok. “The pilot contacted Air Traffic Control (ATC) for permission to land the aircraft due to an unruly passenger on board.” According to sources, “The man’s wife, who is a Thai national, contacted the crew members and the pilot and said that she was being threatened by her husband, who is a German national.”
It is noteworthy that on October 1, Delhi Police had registered a case against a 25-year-old man for allegedly creating disturbance and misbehaving with the flight crew during an Air India flight from New York to Delhi.According to officials, the case pertains to a passenger who caused disruption in the flight and used objectionable language with the female cabin crew. A case under section 509 of the Indian Penal Code and sections 22/23 of the Aircraft Rules was registered at the IGI Airport police station following a complaint by one of the female cabin crew members.
According to the FIR, the passenger hailing from Jalandhar, who was initially assigned seat number 21B, was later found in seat number 45H, making lewd comments and verbally abusing his fellow passengers. The FIR states, “The passenger then started running here and there and verbally abusing everyone. The cabin supervisor first gave a verbal warning, followed by a written warning.”Eventually the crew had to physically restrain him as he continued to misbehave. “He made racist remarks at me and other female crew members in the galley, saying, ‘You girls are available for two dollars’, and verbally assaulted other crew members,” the FIR of the female cabin crew member said. Abused.”
