Ensure smooth paddy procurement: Kawardha Collector

Kawardha. To ensure a smooth paddy procurement system in the district, Collector Gopal Verma held an important meeting with all committee managers in the Collectorate meeting room on Saturday. He told the managers that paddy procurement is a top priority for the government and must be conducted in a systematic and transparent manner to avoid inconvenience to farmers. Officials from the Food and Cooperative Departments were also present at the meeting.

Collector Verma informed the committee managers that the government has issued new guidelines for paddy procurement this year, including the number of tokens issued to farmers according to acreage, staking of paddy varieties, and the use of the Gate Pass app. The Collector stated that, as per government instructions, one token will be issued for farmers with less than 2 acres, two tokens for those with 2 to 10 acres, and three tokens for farmers with more than 10 acres. Therefore, all managers must ensure token issuance in accordance with these guidelines.

He directed that photographs of the vehicle carrying paddy to the procurement center be taken and uploaded to the Gate Pass app. Additionally, regarding the guidelines issued for staking paddy, he stated that paddy should be stacked at procurement centers according to its variety. This should be especially emphasized in all committees. He directed that committee-level problems related to farmers be resolved on priority, and that other problems be immediately reported to higher officials so that they can be resolved quickly.
