This train (number 06056) will depart from Ernakulam station at 11:10 pm on May 31st and arrive at Chennai Egmore station at 12:00 pm the next day, June 1st. This special train features modern, multi-class coaches to accommodate different classes of passengers. The train’s configuration includes two air-conditioned double-decker coaches, three air-conditioned triple-decker coaches, seven air-conditioned triple-decker low-fare coaches, four sleeper coaches, four general second-class coaches, and two guard and brake vans (goods and brake vans).
According to railway officials, passenger traffic on major routes in South India increases significantly during the summer holidays. Therefore, such special trains are being operated to ensure passengers have access to confirmed tickets and manage congestion. The Ernakulam-Chennai route is considered a particularly busy route, where regular trains often have long waiting lists.
Passengers are advised to confirm their tickets and schedules before traveling, as this service is operated for a limited period. The Railways says that additional special trains may be arranged if required.
This move is expected to provide relief to thousands of passengers travelling between Kerala and Tamil Nadu, especially those planning to travel during the summer holidays.
