Excise team Basna action, 50 liter Mahua liquor seized

Mahasamund. In order to prevent possible loss of life due to consumption of illegally distilled Mahua liquor and in view of security of excise revenue, the Excise Department Mahasamund is taking continuous action against raw liquor.

On February 9, on the basis of informer’s information, Excise team Basna seized illegal hand kiln Mahua liquor in total quantity of 50 liters and 1400 kg of Mahua Lahan from the forest adjacent to village Akharbhatha police station-Basna, took a sample of Lahan on the spot and destroyed the remaining Lahan under section 34( 1)(f), 34(2) and 59(a) of IPC. A case has been registered under the Act and the accused is being traced.

The said action was taken under the leadership of Excise Sub-Inspector Nitish Singh Bais, in-charge of Excise Circle Basna, in which Excise Constable Sanjay Markam and Excise staff accompanied us.
