Exports of electronic products from India became cheaper: ICEA

New Delhi New Delhi: The US on Saturday changed its tariff policy, exempting smartphones, tablets, laptops and some other electronic devices from new duties. This will make Indian exports of products 20 per cent cheaper than those from China, industry body ICEA said on Sunday.

ICEA chairman said that now there will be no tariff on products from India and Vietnam, while 20 per cent tariff will remain applicable on products from China. This will give Indian companies a huge advantage over China, especially companies like Apple, Foxconn, and Dixon.

India’s mobile phone exports are set to cross Rs 2 lakh crore in 2024-25, up 55 per cent from Rs 1.29 lakh crore in 2023-24.
