Fake pesticide packing factory unearthed in Haryana
Chandigarh (IANS) | Haryana Police has registered a case against a factory owner in Hisar for packing spurious pesticides for sale. An official provided this information on Wednesday. According to the information received by Sadar Thana Hisar, the owner of the factory in Gamda village was manufacturing spurious pesticides, which were being sold in the market by labeling Syngenta, Dhanuka and FMC.
A team led by Kuldeep Singh, a quality control inspector in the agriculture department, Rajbir Singh, raided the factory. They found that pesticides are being made there by mixing suspicious chemicals, which can also be harmful to the soil.
Also, labels of big companies were being put on the packing. Illegal goods worth lakhs of rupees have been recovered from the factory premises.
Samples have been collected from the factory and sent to the lab for testing.
The use of excessive amounts of chemicals or pesticides made from the wrong mix not only poses the risk of crop damage or production of food products harmful to humans, but also adversely affects the income of farmers.
