Farewell to the bride after all the rituals, news of father’s death received before reaching in-laws’ house
Pratapgarh: The joyous occasion of a wedding in Pratapgarh, UP, abruptly turned into a scene of mourning. Following the bride’s farewell, a tragic turn of events unfolded as her father’s funeral rites took place. The unfortunate incident occurred during the daughter’s wedding night on Thursday in Kathar village of Patti Kotwali when the father’s health suddenly declined. By morning, the heartbreaking news of his passing emerged, causing the daughter to return from her journey. Despite bidding her final farewell to her father, she proceeded to her in-laws’ home. The atmosphere during the wedding festivities turned somber, marked by distressing cries due to the sudden loss.
The wedding procession of Shubham Singh had arrived from Dadiyar, Fatehpur on Thursday for the marriage of 45-year-old Dinesh Singh’s daughter, Preeti. Dinesh Singh joyously blessed the newlyweds during the wedding rituals at night. However, Dinesh began feeling unwell shortly afterward and was taken to the hospital. The following morning, the bride’s procession commenced, but midway, they received the devastating news of her father’s demise. Upon returning home with her husband, sorrow echoed throughout the area. Nevertheless, after bidding her final respects to her father, relatives and villagers accompanied Preeti to her in-laws’ residence. Dinesh Singh’s remains were then taken for cremation, evoking tears from all present.
Amar Singh, also known as Sadhu, expressed happiness about the marriage of Dinesh’s daughter, Preeti, the eldest among his four sons. The news of his son’s passing during the wedding celebration caused both Sadhu Singh and his wife to faint. Their grief was palpable as they cried out loudly upon the arrival of the deceased’s body. The weight of sadness was evident as Sadhu shouldered his son’s bier, prompting an outpouring of sorrow from the gathering.
Elaborate arrangements, including tents and decorations, adorned the wedding venue for Dinesh Singh’s daughter, creating an atmosphere of celebration that extended late into the night. The farewell ceremony in the morning was bustling with activity until news of Dinesh’s passing cast a pall of silence over the once lively gathering.
