Female candidate cried after her nomination was canceled, said – Now I will press NOTA button
Bilaspur. Assembly elections are to be held in Chhattisgarh in two phases. Nominations of candidates have been filed for both the phases of voting. Many nominations have been canceled due to errors made in the nomination process. Nomination of a woman candidate has also been canceled in Bilaspur. This woman candidate had filed her nomination to contest the elections as an independent candidate. However, his nomination has been cancelled. After knowing about the cancellation of nomination, the woman’s pain was expressed and tears came out.
Female e-rickshaw driver Heera Kashyap burst into tears after her nomination was cancelled. He said, “E-rickshaw drivers have to face many problems. Freecharging points have been prepared and given to them under Smart City. But there is lack of facilities here. We have been given one charging point, whereas hundreds of e-rickshaw drivers come here to charge. Due to this, charging point is not available at the right time. Passengers are not available due to delay.
Apart from this, both the governments had promised e-rickshaw drivers that subsidy would be given on purchasing e-rickshaw. However, government banks do not give them loans and the government does not give subsidies to private banks. This is the reason why one has to buy e-rickshaw by paying more money. Apart from this, stands for e-rickshaws have been prepared at very few places. They are not allowed to leave the railway station. Even the district administration does not help them on this. This is why I wanted to make arrangements for my colleagues by contesting the elections.”
It is being told that there are about 5000 e-rickshaw drivers in Bilaspur. All reside in different assembly constituencies of the district. Rickshaw pullers are angry due to the cancellation of nomination. All rickshaw pullers are warning to protest against this election. They are also talking about registering their protest by pressing the button in NOTA.
