Ferozepur: 18 year old girl committed suicide by hanging herself
Jalandhar: An 18-year-old girl named Kirandeep Kaur committed suicide in Jalandhar Heights 1 late on Tuesday night. Kirandeep, originally from Ferozepur, was found hanging from a fan in her room. She was living with her distant aunt after her father’s death. According to Gurvinder Singh, Incharge of Jalandhar Heights police post, Kirandeep was in depression since her father’s death two months ago.
Her mother left her in her childhood and since she had no siblings or close relatives, her aunt, who lives in Italy, put her to live with a distant relative in Jalandhar. Police investigation concluded that depression was the only reason behind Kirandeep’s decision to commit suicide. Legal proceedings have been initiated after the post-mortem investigation is completed. Meanwhile, this is the fourth suicide in Jalandhar in the last one week. Other incidents include a Class XI student, a domestic help in Shiv Vihar and an employee at OM Visa Immigration who committed suicide by jumping from the fourth floor of the building.
