Fierce fire in Union Bank, burning papers and other goods
Ghaziabad (IANS). A massive fire broke out at Union Bank in Ghaziabad’s Modinagar area around 8:30 am on Wednesday. Due to the fire, the papers and other items kept inside the bank were burnt to ashes. It is not yet known whether the notes got burnt in the fire or not.
Fire tenders reached on the information of the incident controlled the fire. There has been no loss of life in the fire. The reason for the fire is currently being told as short circuit.
There is Union Bank in front of MM Degree College on Delhi-Meerut road. It is being told that around 8 am on Wednesday, smoke started coming out from inside the bank. As soon as the information was received, the in-charge of Modi Nagar police station reached the spot. But, due to the closure of the gate of the bank, it could not be known where the fire started.
After this, a fire engine first arrived on the information. Started fire fighting. But seeing the dreadful nature of the fire, another vehicle was called on the spot. Due to the fire, all the goods kept inside the bank were burnt to ashes. It is not yet known how much cash was in the bank and whether it was burnt or not.
Short circuit is said to be the cause of the fire. There are many houses and offices around the bank. ACP Modinagar Gyan Prakash Rai told that the fire broke out due to short circuit. So far, the extent of the damage has not been known.
