We will fall behind in the race for development if we do not use AI: CM

Patna. Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary has stated that in the current digital era, the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a paramount necessity. If we lag behind in adopting AI and modern technologies, we will also fall behind in the race for development. He noted that just as there was limited understanding of computer technology 20–25 years ago—whereas today computers have become essential across all sectors—AI is poised to become a crucial foundation for governance, administration, and development schemes in the near future.
The Deputy Chief Minister emphasized that AI is not limited to the technical sphere alone; it can be effectively utilized to formulate government policies, ensure better implementation of schemes, and deliver services to the general public. Describing it as a vital tool to accelerate development, he stated that the government must embrace technology to keep pace with changing times.
He observed that the world is rapidly moving towards digital transformation. In such a scenario, it is essential to integrate new technologies into the administrative system. AI enables the analysis of vast amounts of data, which helps in designing schemes that are more effective and tailored to specific needs. This assists the government in understanding the requirements of people in specific areas and optimizing resource utilization.
The Deputy Chief Minister stated that AI could play a pivotal role in translating development schemes into ground-level reality. Artificial Intelligence can prove useful in monitoring schemes, managing resources, improving service quality, and enhancing the precision of decision-making processes. He emphasized that the objective of technology should be to augment human potential and provide better facilities to the public.
Highlighting the growing importance of digital technology, he recalled that there were once many apprehensions regarding computers a few decades ago. Few understood their utility at the time, yet computers gradually became an integral part of every sector—including education, business, administration, and industry. Similarly, AI is a necessity for the future, and preparations to adopt it must begin now.
The Deputy Chief Minister affirmed that the government’s priority is to utilize modern technologies for the benefit of the common people. Government services can be made simpler, more transparent, and faster through digital mediums. The use of AI will accelerate administrative processes and aid in the effective implementation of schemes.
He stated that significant transformations are possible in sectors such as education, health, agriculture, industry, and employment through AI. In the agricultural sector, AI-based technologies can provide farmers with better information regarding weather, crops, and markets. In the health sector, it can be utilized to strengthen disease diagnosis and treatment systems. Meanwhile, in the field of education, students can gain better opportunities through digital resources and personalized learning techniques.
The Chief Minister also urged officials and the youth to learn and adopt new technologies. He remarked that the future belongs to technology-driven development, and only those societies and institutions that embrace change with the times will progress. He emphasized the need to raise awareness about AI and encourage its positive application.
He further stated that technology must be used responsibly and cautiously. AI should be deployed with due regard for transparency, security, and the public interest to ensure its benefits reach the maximum number of people. The government aims to promote technology that simplifies the lives of ordinary citizens and enables the administration to function more effectively.
Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary’s statement is being viewed as a significant message regarding the promotion of digital governance and modern technology. Experts believe that AI has the potential to transform administrative systems and development models in the coming years. Consequently, it has become essential for governments to accelerate the pace of development by adopting technology-driven solutions.
He asserted that AI is not a challenge for the future, but an opportunity for development. By utilizing it correctly, the country and the state can scale new heights. In the digital age, strengthening technological capabilities is the key to rapid and inclusive development.
