Five arrested in Madurai train coach fire case
Chennai (IANS). Five people, including a tour operator and a cook, have been arrested in the Madurai train coach fire case. Nine pilgrims from Uttar Pradesh traveling to Rameshwaram lost their lives in this accident.
Those arrested by the Government Railway Police include Satyaprakash, Narendra, Kardish Sakhani, Deepak and Sukum Kashyap. A case has been registered against all of them under relevant sections.
According to sources, he will be produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate court in Madurai.
A coach of the Lucknow-Rameshwaram Express parked at Madurai Outer Yard caught fire on Saturday morning, killing nine people and injuring many more. The reason for the fire is being attributed to the gas cylinder illegally installed in the coach.
There were 55 passengers and eight staff in the coach. Nine people lost their lives in the fire. The Railways and the local police had difficulty in identifying the bodies of the dead as the deceased were so badly burnt that it was difficult to identify them.
