Flights cancelled: Special trains for foreign nationals.
Tamil Nadu: Due to the cancellation of IndiGo flights from Chennai, Southern Railway has announced that special trains will be operated to other states on Sunday (December 7) for the convenience of passengers.
Press release issued by Southern Railway regarding this:
IndiGo flight services have been completely cancelled for the past few days. Therefore, for the convenience of passengers, Southern Railway is operating special trains from Chennai to various destinations.
Telangana, Andhra Pradesh: As part of this, a special express train (number 06019) departing from Sarapalli in Telangana at 6 PM on Sunday (December 7) will reach Chennai Egmore at 8:30 AM the next day.
Similarly, a special train (number 07147) departing from Chennai Egmore at 12:30 PM on December 7 will reach Secunderabad in Andhra Pradesh at 3 AM the next day. This train will stop at Gudur, Nellore, Tenali, Vijayawada, Warangal, and Kazipet stations.
Special train to Bangalore: A special train (number 06255) will depart from Bangalore at 8:05 AM on December 7 and reach Egmore at 11:45 PM the next day. This train will stop at Jolarpettai, Katpadi, Arakkonam, Tiruvallur, and Perambur stations. Bookings for these trains have reportedly begun.
